So. I will ask you - what did this "protest" accomplish?
"Raised awareness"? We're all aware that the Palestinians picked a fight with the wrong people.
Demonstrated "I stand with Palestine"? Why not give your life in Gaza fighting on their behalf?
I disagree with your assessment. This was a psychologically suffering individual, in my opinion, whose act made zero difference in the Palestinian plight, if indeed that was the trigger.
