This is an interesting topic. On one hand, it is extremely important for us to accept ourselves. On the other hand, the desire to grow is important too. If we view ourselves as already perfect, growth would be unnecessary.
I think the balance lies in accepting who we are at our core, but striving to improve our lives by selectively altering our behavior. Diet, sleep, exercise, how we interact with others, what we do for a living--these routines profoundly affect our quality of life, so it pays to change them when they no longer serve us, or serve us poorly.
