Escape from Hell: Eggy Edition! Ch. 2

After the events of Chapter 1...

Blobbi and Calais had started on their adventure, and were heading on their way to find the seal locking Blobbi away.

"Wait!" Blobbi suddenly yelled.

"We need supplies!" Said Blobbi. "This isn't exactly gonna be very easy y'know..."

Calais agreed, and they found a path that led by a shop, so they could pick up supplies but still make progress in the process.

Eventually, they reached the shop, and there was a strange commotion stirring...

"I NEED A BREASTPLATE!"

"Our next shipment's next week. Come back then and leave me alone."

"WELL I NEED IT TODAY!"

"I can't help you, ok?"

"WELL WHY NOT?"

"I. already. told. you."

"NGAHHHHH!"

The skeleton soldier that was making the racket kicked a rock, it flew past the tired-looking skeleton shopkeeper.

"Hey, watch what you're doing!" Said the shopkeeper. "Coulda cracked my skull..."

"MAYBE I WILL!"

"..."

"Why..?"

"BECAUSE I WANNA!"

"Oh lord..."

The skeleton soldier lunged at the shopkeeper, the shopkeeper stepped out of the way and the soldier flew into a tree. There was a loud BONK. The soldier stood up and swung his club at the shopkeeper, he missed and chipped off a piece of the stands roof.

"Hey, Calais, should we help that guy?" Said Blobbi.

Calais pointed to the soldier, and cocked her head to the side, confused.

"The shopkeeper, dummy!" He retorted.

Calais shrugged and gave a thumbs up.

Calais walked towards the soldier, and he turned to face her. He suddenly forgot about his issues with the shopkeeper and glared at Calais, before lunging at her!

Calais was so startled, and hadn't fought in so long that she couldn't react. Blobbi suddenly jumped up and shape-shifted himself into a shield, causing the soldier to bonk his head once again, at this point a crack was forming.

"Forgot to mention, I can shape shift!"

Calais was still surprised, but gave him a grateful smile.

"AW CMON!!" the soldier yelled. "THAT'S THE SECOND TIME!"

Before the soldier could attack again, Blobbi formed a straight-jacket of sorts around the soldier, preventing him from attacking again.

"Calais, use a pacification spell! Quick, please!" Blobbi grunted as the soldier bit him "OWWW!"

Calais looked confused and panicked, she didn't remember how to cast spells.

"Just focus your energy!" Blobbi said as he tried to restrain the soldier. "Then release it!"

Calais attempted Blobbis suggestion, she closed her eyes, and put her hand forward. She thought deeply, and when her eyes opened...

She shot a beam of light from her hand!

The beam collided with soldier, right in the skull, but instead of hurting him, he just went still, and sagged forward. Asleep.

Calais was shocked at what she just did. She didn't know much, but she knew she had never done something like this before.

Blobbi let go of the soldier, and tried to set him against the wall of the mountain, before realizing he was weak, and got Calais to help him.

"Thanks for that, I guess." Said the shopkeeper.

"No problem!" Said Blobbi. "We just wanted to help out!"

"What's your names?" The shopkeeper asked.

"Blobbi!"

Calais told the shopkeeper her name.

"..."

"The name's Ribeye."

Blobbi tried not to laugh, and Calais looked puzzled as to why he was so amused.

She complimented his name, saying it sounded cool.

"Yeah, it is." Said Ribeye. "Until you realize it's a damn kind of steak."

Calais suddenly understood the humor and held back a chuckle herself.

"I guess I should probably repay you." Said Ribeye, ignoring their hidden laughter.

Ribeye reached into the shops storage, and rummaged through the supplies for a good while. Calais and Blobbi became more and more eager as each second of storage-searching passed. A million ideas of what it could possibly be shot through their heads...

"There it is..." Ribeye said, grasping something in the comically large storage closet. Calais and Blobbis eyes practically lit up with wonder as they stared down the closet. It was...

A banana.

Calais and Blobbis hopes shot straight into the ground. You could almost hear a distant shatter-noise.

"Well... that's kind of you..." Said Blobbi, trying to look grateful. "We appreciate it..."

Calais attempted to flash a grin, and put the banana into her sack.

"You're disappointed." Said Ribeye. "I can tell."

"O-oh no, we're thankful-" Blobbi was cut off.

"You guys can have this too, if that's any better." Ribeye replied.

He pulled a shining silver blade, and some armor. Boots, shoulder pads, and...

A breastplate.

"You had a breastplate?!" Blobbi said, shocked. "We could've avoided this whole conflict!"

"I guess we could've." Ribeye replied. "Oh well."

Calais put on the armor, it fit perfectly, and made her look and feel a lot tougher. fortunately she actually was.

"Wooooaaaah!" Blobbi said in awe. "Cooooool!"

Calais was confused about the blade. She wondered how a blade could help her, she didn't want to hurt anyone, and she didn't see how it could help with a spell.

"Blades can help focus your energy." Ribeye said. "They also can be useful for blocking attacks."

Calais was confused by how Ribeye had known what she was thinking, but decided it was best not to question it.

"Weeeeeeeeelllll..." Blobbi started. "We should probably get going. We've got a long journey ahead of us.

"That's cool I guess." Ribeye replied. "I run most of the shops ahead, too. I'll be there later."

"Well... we'll see you there!" Said Blobbi.

And thus, the two continued on their journey...
