I watched a video of a lynching in Nigeria and the person looked like an old man but the description said it was a woman. Without facial hair, the sex of elderly people can be kind of ambiguous.

I always thought a male witch was just called a warlock, but maybe neither is gender specific.

Well, they call it a lynching. It's really dragging them through the street, piling old tires and gasoline on them and then setting it on fire. You'd be surprised how long it takes someone to burn to death that way. Just think about how long it takes to cook a steak.
