Aw man, respect for this one. Admittedly, I've only read the first novel in the series and part of the second because I was busy with college during the time and my major gave me pretty scant free time, but from what I remember, I was enthralled by the world-building and otherworldliness of the magical world in the story. This illustration of the main character perfectly captures what one would imagine she'd have looked like during her humble beginnings before she was whisked away to the manor. Her sheer determination and exhaustion is present in the starkness of her facial expression, and her gait is strong as she can possibly be whilst still maintaining her physical weakness as she tries to hunt a decent enough meal. I need to get back into this series at some point, and I think I might sooner rather than later.
