There are several reasons. Short answer: my memes and GIFs often include title, username, or both, as well as sometimes even a hashtag, for the same reason you begin online conversation with a stranger in a way you wouldn't dare do offline: comes down to preference, style, and taste.

P.S. It wouldn't be hard for people to edit out most o' my titles and my username, post my stuff without giving credit.
