If you think about it, it even more depressing bc the son is playing an offline game bc his dad probably turned out the wifi. And he's asking his son, "are ya winning?" when in reality he's never actually made the first move, just sitting there pondering life. Has no one to play with and nothing to do, he forces himself to please his dad by answering with a weak "yes"
