A long, long time ago, in a
galaxy far, far away, two
members of the Force-
wielding warrior-monastic
Jedi Order, named
Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-
Gon Jinn, travel to a remote
desert planet called Tatooine
and find a young boy named
Anakin Skywalker. They
manage to free Anakin from
slavery and take him in
to learn the ways of the
Force and to become a
Jedi at their Grand Temple,
located at the capital of
the interstellar FTL-space
faring fusion-age civilization
of the Galactic Republic,
within the cosmopolitan
city-world of Coruscant.

Although Jedi are not
traditionally allowed to get
married and have families,
as a young adult Jedi-Knight,
Anakin falls in love with Senator
Padmé Amidala of the planet of
Naboo and they get married.
Anakin later has nightmares of
Padmé dying in childbirth, so
he asks for help from the evil
Darth Sidious (who to the rest
of the Galaxy is known as the
popular Chancellor Palpatine).
Sidious teaches Anakin to become
a Sith and Anakin becomes
Darth Vader. Sidious uses his
army to kill all of the Jedi, with
only Yoda and Obi-Wan surviving.

Padmé gives birth to two twins:
Luke and Leia, both of whom
Vader doesn't know about.
After birth, the twins are
separated to prevent Vader
and the Dark Side from finding
and hurting the children. Padmé
has died shortly after giving
birth. Obi-Wan Kenobi sends
Luke to a desert planet called
Tatooine to live with his Uncle
Owen and Aunt Beru on a
moisture farm. Leia is raised
by Senator Bail Organa, who
is king of the planet Alderaan;
she is called Princess Leia
Organa.

Nineteen years later, Luke
meets Jedi Master Obi-Wan,
the smuggler Han Solo
and his Wookiee friend
Chewbacca. They rescue
Princess Leia, who has been
captured by Darth Vader and
the evil Galactic Empire for
stealing the plans for the
Empire's Death Star (a
planet-destroying super-
weapon). After Darth Vader
kills Obi-Wan in lightsaber-
combat, Luke travels to a
remote swamp planet called
Dagobah to learn more about
the Jedi ways from Master
Yoda. Luke becomes a Jedi
and rescues Han Solo from
the throes of a galactic crime-
lord called Jabba the Hutt.

They join the Rebellion and
help to fight the Galactic
Empire. Vader tells Luke that
he is his father. Luke and Leia
soon find out that they are
siblings. Luke meets Darth
Sidious, who is now the evil
Galactic Emperor. However,
Darth Vader turns good again
after Sidious begins to torture
Luke. Vader kills Sidious and
dies from his injuries, and is
cremated on the forest-moon
of Endor after the destruction
of the Death Star - the Galaxy
is saved for a while and the
Galactic Republic is restored,
with the war-torn galactic
civilization slowly rebuilding
into peace and prosperity.

Thirty years later, however,
the Galactic Empire's remnants
have come together to emerge
from obscurity to form the
First Order. However, the New
Republic does not believe that
it is a threat. Those who do
believe the First Order is a
threat form the Resistance,
led by Leia, now a prominent
Galactic-Republic military
and political leader. During
this time Leia has married the
smuggler and Rebellion war-
hero Han Solo - they had a
child, named Ben, but Ben was
corrupted by the First Order
and a dark-side force-user
named Snoke and is now a
First-Order warlord called
Kylo Ren. Luke spent the last
thirty years trying to rebuild
the Jedi Order, but has now
vanished because Kylo Ren
turned evil and killed the other
trainee Jedi.

Rey, a desert scavenger from
Jakku who doesn't know her
family, fights with Han (who
returned to being a full-time
smuggler and interstellar trader)
against the First Order, but
Kylo Ren kills Han while on
Starkiller Base (a superweapon
built out of the large crystalline
planet of Ilum that can destroy
multiple planets at once). Rey
joins the Resistance and
manages to find Luke on the
oceanic planet of Ahch-To,
who refuses to teach her to
become a Jedi. Meanwhile, the
First Order has destroyed the
New Republic and its capital-
world of Hosnian Prime, and
is chasing the Resistance
through space. Luke finally
accepts to teach Rey how to
be a Jedi. Rey then develops a
Force-connection with Kylo
Ren; convinced she can turn
him good, she goes into Ren's
spaceship. He brings her
before Supreme Leader Snoke,
who Kylo Ren kills so that he
can become Supreme Leader.

A year later, the Resistance
finds out that Darth Sidious
has come back from the dead
and that he is the true leader
of the First Order, with intent
to reconquer the Galaxy and
re-assert the Sith Order
and the Galactic Empire.
Rey, Finn (a former storm-
trooper), Poe Dameron,
Chewbacca and some of
their other friends go on a
hunt to find the map
leading to Exegol, the planet
that Sidious is hiding on. Rey
finds out that Sidious is her
grandfather. Kylo Ren finally
turns back to good after his
mother, Princess Leia, dies.
Kylo Ren and Rey use the help
of the spirits of every dead
Jedi to kill Sidious permanently,
once and for all. Kylo Ren
dies shortly after, meaning
that all members of the
Skywalker family are dead.

Rey returns to Tatooine, the
planet where both Anakin and
Luke grew up. She buries their
lightsabers and when a stranger
asks for her name, she says
"Rey Skywalker".
