Further explanation:
➳ Roleplaying
Roleplaying (or rp) is a common harmless practice among people in the FNAF stream. Roleplayers often have the character name in their username to identify them (I should mention that some others will just have a character in their username because they like them, and not because they are roleplaying). There is literally nothing wrong with doing this, and it is just good fun for those involved. If you don't want to roleplay with somebody, simply don't interact.
➳ Shipping
Shipping characters together does no harm, unless it is encouraging something illegal, which I have never seen on this stream. The same rules apply for being attracted to the characters in FNAF, animatronic or human. For the record, the only time I've shipped in FNAF is with a rarepair between two human characters in the novel trilogy. It's all in good fun, and you should always assume good faith.
This does not, however, apply to dating or shipping users within the stream, which is not allowed.
➳ "Cringe" memes
Why is this even a problem? If you don't like a meme on the stream, you can just scroll past it. If it's not something that needs to be reported and it doesn't break the rules, then there's no point complaining about its existence in another meme or in the comments to the creator of the meme. Yes, some people will consider themselves furries. Who cares? Yes, some people will make fanart that you think is bad. You know what's worse? Stealing other people's art, which I HAVE seen on the stream, yet it never gets pointed out. And yes, some people will make a meme that you do not think is funny! It does not matter! If you're going to complain about memes you don't like on the stream, then go make your own instead.
➳ Why this is toxic
First of all, it's straight up bullying, but people don't seem to see it that way because we're online and think it doesn't harm people. It's also linked to ableism (discrimination against those with disabilities), especially those on the autism spectrum, and also just to younger people trying to express themselves, or even both. The more that cringe culture is accepted, the more these people feel silenced and unable to talk about what makes them happy, and that is not okay.
➳ My proposal
Monitor comments more often, a lot of this stuff goes undetected and unpunished. Explain to people why this sort of behaviour is not okay.
Hope this helps improve the toxicity within the FNAF stream 👍
