I'd assume as an explanation as to why he's in the Blue Hole. SPOILERS:

There is a Glacial Area you unlock later in the game. Godzilla might have had Baas Island-the island he lives on with Little Godzilla-destroyed in a similar fashion to Godzilla vs. Destroyah-igniting uranium deposits on the island, causing him to absorb huge amounts of radiation. He's probably heading to the Blue Hole to cool off-the trailer showcases Burning Godzilla rising out of the water with noticeably less steam emitting off his body then in Godzilla vs. Destroyah, so clearly it's having an effect. As for where his radiation is going, there's a prehistoric hydrothermal vent area, presumably with higher radiation levels to support the life there, so his radiation could be discharging there and into the Divine Tree. Also, the Blue Hole has some big and unusual marine life-hermit crabs that carry freaking dumpster trucks rather than shells, for example-and if we're counting the Dredge DLC, a lot of aberrational fish. So Godzilla, in fighting those, can also discharge a lot of energy.

They do show Ebirah in the trailer, but there's going to be more monsters. Gezora, maybe? There's also a company in the game called SeaBlue that makes dolphin sushi and yet still says they're "protecting ocean life"-so, obviously a parody of PETA-but they also have access to some pretty advanced tech-so maybe they could use that to fit in Mechagodzilla, or they could be mind controlled by the Xiliens, or potentially team up with them because Dave, a nemesis of theirs as he exposed their practices, is also teaming up with Godzilla-a lot of outlets seem to think Godzilla's a villan, but IGN's trailer description says "he's bringing his friend Godzilla in for an official collab". Although there's no evidence yet in game or in the trailer, maybe Little Godzilla could appear-although they could go for Minilla and make a lot of jokes with the little shit at the receiving end. Little Godzilla could maybe be sort of a VIP guest that might try some of Bancho's sushi, and you'd have to make better and better recipes out of the larger monsters.

I'll definitely say that Duff (the stereotypical Redditor) is going to have a place in the plot. Maybe one of the enemies is also the whale lice mutated by Godzilla's radiation in the 1984 movie. idk, state your theories.
