This meme is not meant to make fun of or insult Christianity but to get you to think.

I know the Catholics believe the elements of communion really do become Jesus' body and blood after being eaten, but that's just something weird they came up with. (When Jesus says the bread and wine are his body and blood, he's being figurative, other wise, the Catholics are cannibals.)

Thank you for commenting on this. I believe 1 Corinthians 11:26 gives testament to communion. So it's not, per se, just a "Catholic thing". Of course they're not cannibals. But I figured this would spark some thinking on the matter. :)

Well, I don't believe communion is really eating Jesus, I think he was being figurative. Just wanted to clarify my beliefs.

Of course. I whole heartily agree with you. This meme is designed to spark a provocative thought. The bible should not always be taken in a literal context. But thank you for making your belief known.

Yeah, if you take the whole Bible literally, the Song of Solomon gets really weird.

There are two levels of literal: 1) rigidly at the face value of the word, and 2) embracing the teachings as the writer intended them, with due allowance for literary devices.

I adhere to 2 above.
