Random thing about Underlunar, there wasn't really a barrier keeping people trapped, but there were guards who worked for the guy who started the human and monster war.
Sometimes these guards would go into the mountain to terrorize the residents, and during one of these attacks was when Amon fell into the core when he was trying to defend himself against one of the guards.
