For trudeau to have used the Emergency Act (one that has never been used before... and meant for times of war) against peaceful protestors... says a lot about his own liberal dictatorial/fascistic tendencies.
Macron of France was surprised by the farmers’ blockades (and is talking to the French farmers... unlike arrogant trudeau who had refused to speak to the Canadian truckers), and has announced a delay of “several weeks” to enact reforms that were announced over a year ago to help farmers... but never put into place!
The stakes are high: France lost 20% (101,000) of its farms between 2010 and 2020, according to a recent survey.... due to high energy and other tax costs! Additionally, the strict standards that are financially ruining, that the French farmers have to observe, are not placed on food suppliers from around the world... who are pouring their products into France... making these foreign products both unsafe and cheaper! The French farmers with their much higher overhead costs, mainly due to government legislation cannot compete with foreign products!
