Hi, creator and owner of this stream aCollectionOfCellsThatMakesMemes here. Sorry for responding late, since I wasn’t as active on imgflip over the past couple of days due to being busy with other aspects of my life. And if I don’t respond to your comment for a while, then it’s probably also for the same reason.
I feel like the best way to respond to this is to first define what “propaganda” actually means, since it’s one of those words with a negative connotation that can get people who don’t fully understand its definition to be scared of it. So, for this, I will use Britannica’s definition of it (not as an endorsement of it by any means, of course) as it was the definition I kept in mind when making the rule (let me know if you find a better definition though).
To directly quote from it, propaganda is “the dissemination of information—facts, arguments, rumours, half-truths, or lies—to influence public opinion.” (Source: https://www.britannica.com/topic/propaganda)
As we can see here, propaganda doesn’t necessarily mean “the spreading of misinformation,” though it can include that. It instead just means to spread widely one’s information and perspectives, whether true or false. In this case, the reason why I specifically specified that **Zionist** propaganda isn’t allowed is because this is an Anti-Zionist stream and is therefore opposed to the State of Israel and any support of it. Meanwhile, pro-Palestinian propaganda can actually be a good thing for this stream since, as so long it’s not misinformation, it can spread our message.
So for this reason, I will not be banning any and all propaganda. However, I have made sure to include within the rule that any and all misinformation/disinformation is not allowed, whether coming from the pro-Israel or pro-Palestine side, as even doing the latter just serves to weaken said movement.
Thanks for chipping in your idea for how to improve this stream though!
