We are a Constitutional Republic, not a damn democracy.

And the reason is power decentralization = individual freedom. But if we had direct democracy, we would have one state instead of 50. So direct democracy is actually less democratic than a democratic republic is.

No, I am saying that the purpose of democracy is not majority rule, but the political empowerment of individuals. Majority rule is not actually democratic because 51% of people could enslave 49%. Allowing every state to be its own democracy creates competition for residents. That's more democratic because it gives more power to individuals and less power to the states (or the national government).
