No escape chapter 4: Inklysium

Calais kept running from the monster as the raft slowly approached the island. Calais saw that the raft was getting closer by the seconds but she knew that she couldn’t keep this up for too long.

“This monster — it won’t stop, until I’m dead” Calais ran while trying to catch her breath

The Monster kept chasing after Calais when Calais suddenly shot another destructive hellblast at the monster and this one hits the monster’s left eye. The monster roared out at Calais and she knew she had only pissed it off. The raft arrived at the docks of the island.

“Welp now I think it wants me extremely dead!” Calais worried as she started to rush toward the raft.

Calais quickly rushed toward the raft and got on to the raft. The raft started to return to where it came from at a faster speed than when it came to Calais. While Calais was at the midpoint of her destination, a fountain, well of shopping, and an ability purger. Calais drank out of the fountain and then walked through the massive door where she entered level 0 where the climate was much cooler than level -1.

“This is much nicer than the last layer” Calais said

Calais saw she now had 2 options to choose from, a hammer or a strange fruit. Calais looked at both of the options and walked through the hammer door.

“Hopefully this is good” Calais said as she entered through the door

Calais was confronted with the sight of honorable Inkversian warriors each wielding a weapon of some sort. The weapons consisted of swords, spears, bow and arrows, and shields. Calais tried to sneak past them when she saw that the door was locked.

“Ah… I forgot I had to slay them all” Calais sighed

“Hey!” A voice of an honorable warrior yelled at Calais

Calais looked at the leading warrior and saw he held a spear. Calais waved hi to the warrior but he didn’t wave back.

“You aren’t supposed to be here!” The Warrior yelled at Calais

“W-why not?” Calais anxiously said back

“You are from Level -2, only the honorable men and women get to be here!” The Warrior yelled at Calais

“Aren’t I honorable for getting here!” Calais said

“No, however I’m going to let you turn back so nobody gets hurt!” The Warrior said to Calais

“Should I truly turn back and give up all my progress so I can let the honorable rest or should I disrupt their rest and continue going…” Calais thought to herself

Calais soon shook her head no and got in position to fight.

“No, I am not leaving!” Calais said

“Well it’s your funeral then” the warrior said

The first warrior used hand signs to command the shield warrior and the sword warrior to go different directions. The First Warrior then ran at Calais with his spear, Calais quickly saw the two men charging at her from the sides, and she quickly ran at the First Warrior.

“What an idiot!” The warrior said

Calais suddenly shot her destructive hellblast at the first Warrior and he quickly sidestepped away from it. Calais had used the hellblast as a diversion and dashed at the Warrior. She dash-struck the warrior with a powerful punch and the warrior quickly blocked it with the shaft of his spear. The spear broke in two and the warrior retreated. The shield Warrior suddenly bashed Calais from behind and Calais was knocked forward.

“GAH!” Calais helped as she rolled on the ground from the hit.

“That’s for trespassing!” The shield warrior said

“I get it, I’m trespassing!” Calais said

The Shield Warrior dashed at Calais again but Calais had quickly got back up to retaliate. Calais waited for the shield warrior to get closer, the Shield warrior approached her quickly, and soon got in range.

“AHA!” Calais shouted as she threw a single destructive empowered punch at the shield warrior.

The punch went right through the shield and hit the man’s chest area. The punch broke the man’s rips and destroyed the heart in one punch.

“Boom!” Calais shouted

“WHAT!?!” The First warrior shouted

The sword warrior ran at Calais and thrusted their sword at her, Calais backhanded the sword out of the way and then punched the man with her spiky gauntlet. The sword warrior fell to the ground and the first warrior soon ran at Calais. Calais saw him run at her and Calais kicked the man in the crotch. The man fell to his knees and Calais grabbed his broken spear.

“Don’t fight me unless you know what you are getting into” Calais said

“You are a trespasser!” The man said “you disturbed our rest!”

“Go back to sleep then!” Calais said as she stabbed the man in the head.

Calais walks away from the dead man when suddenly a cat grabs her leg.

“Huh?” Calais said

The cat purred on Calais’ leg and Calais turned around and bent down to pet the cat.

“Good kitty!” Calais said

The cat purred when suddenly it started flashing a white color and a ticking sound emitted from it.

“What the?” Calais said as she got the cat off her leg.

Calais took a few steps back when the cat suddenly exploded. Instead of blood going everywhere, there was shrapnels of wood flying around, and Calais quickly dashed out of the way of all the shrapnels.

“What the f**k, Father” Calais said

Calais soon continued through the chambers when she suddenly encountered a strange yellow-green orb with a flame as the symbol.

“Well… in the name of Xorus, I accept this message!” Calais said

“Hello friend, I am sad to hear that you are stuck in this hellscape so I am lending you my abilities to help you!” The goddess said

“Thank you for your help but first, what is your name?” Calais said

“Oh, my name is Inkmatas and what is your name dear?” Inkmatas said

“I am Calais” Calais said to Inkmatas

“Well nice to meet you Calais and I hope your journey ends successfully for you!” Inkmatas said

Calais began to choose her abilities and she saw an ability that caught her eye.

“Inkmatas’ aid?” Calais said confusingly

“That ability is where I come to aid you in battle!” Inkmatas said to Calais

“I’ll take it” Calais said

“I’ll definitely be glad to help you!” Inkmatas said

Calais nodded to the sky above and then started to go through the rest of the chambers. Calais soon entered the final shop of Inklysium (level 0) and saw a light blue and dark purple colored orb on sale. Calais bought the orb with 150 underworld coin even though she had 200 underworld coin. Suddenly Adult Ruby had emerged from the orb and had greeted Calais.

“Hello… young one” Ruby said

“H-hi?” Calais said

“What is your name” Ruby said

“I’m Calais” Calais said

“I am Ruby and I’m here to help you get out of this hell” Ruby said

“Thanks” Calais said as she then began to pick her abilities.

Calais picked an ability for her dash and then began to walk into the final room of Inklysium where she encountered a man and a juvenile Limitless.

“2 on 1, this doesn’t seem fair for a championship game!?!” Calais said in some worry

“Hahaha, I am sure this is plenty fair against a hellspawn like you!” The man said

“So now we are just basing fairness off where you come from now” Calais said to the man

“Well anyways, I, Jade: the champion of Inklysium shall send you back to level -2!” The man exclaimed

Jade took his axe and unsheathed it. The Juvenile Limitless roared at Calais and Calais got ready to fight.
