The quantity of sparky thought connecteroos (clinically speaking) that some things take up in there should count for something.

I often lament that I can't just toss a creator $10 or $20 every time they release something that enriches my life. Record labels are parasites who should be scraping a fraction of the profits. The artists should be getting the majority of what their work generates. (Not relevant to visual media but still.)

Me too! Even my least monetized interactions with their content often doesn't or can't match the actual value or attention I give it. (For me it's usu webcomics, often translated to English, which I'm sure is a whole other set of issues.)
