Its important because the anti-christian powers in charge of naming our months after false gods think its important.

Its the same with the names of the days of our week, and the stars and 'planets' that revolve around the universe. Almost all of those have names of gods of differing cultures and legends. Where did they come from, and if they are just imaginary legends, why do we use them on a daily basis?

Psa 147:4 NLT - 4 He counts the stars and calls them all by name.

And if these secular powers can change the dates, times, months and years to honor false gods, it is wise to look around at who or what else they have convinced us to honor, even if it seems trivial.

Rev 12:4, 9 NLT 4 His tail swept away one-third *of the stars* in the sky, and he threw them *to the earth*….. ... 9 This great dragon--the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world--was thrown down *to the earth with all his angels (stars).*

Yes we call it what it is called for communicative purposes, but awareness is the point.

Why do you call yourself a snake, but have a icon of a cross?
