Its important because the anti-christian powers in charge of naming our months after false gods think its important.
Its the same with the names of the days of our week, and the stars and 'planets' that revolve around the universe. Almost all of those have names of gods of differing cultures and legends. Where did they come from, and if they are just imaginary legends, why do we use them on a daily basis?
Psa 147:4 NLT - 4 He counts the stars and calls them all by name.
And if these secular powers can change the dates, times, months and years to honor false gods, it is wise to look around at who or what else they have convinced us to honor, even if it seems trivial.
