The ONLY way for Biden to “cancel” student loan debt is to make someone else pay it off. Otherwise all such cancellations are in violation of the Fifth Amendment’s Takings Clause which requires just compensation for any private property they take. Since the debts are held by private banks the government has no right to cancel them, nor should any citizen expect them to.
