If non-mods can help by flagging unmarked NSFW, brigading, and harassment then stream can live without manual approval.
Auto-approve looks like a risk only because of that.

Plus, auto-approve was only implemented after complaints about the stream being "slow" which was due to lesser mods in the beginning of 1984. It's not a problem now.
