The aching had worsened, to the point where 401 couldn't even bear to bend her spine.
Another oddity that she had noticed was in her behavior. She felt more aggression when hunting, and almost didn't care how grotesque things got. All she cared about at this point was survival.
-
"F**k!" 401 hissed under her breath. It was the fourth animal she messed up hunting. She couldn't pounce successfully due to how stiff her back had gotten. She found a few berries and headed home. It wasn't a lot to eat, but it'll have to do. 401 can solve her issue later. Right now she was tired.
-
She woke up and winced. "Ow..."
Her back almost felt like it was cracking.
-
It pulled at her skin, trying to get out. It was close to rupturing. There was no space for it, it needed to be free.
It hurt it hurt it hurt it hurt
The skin tore, allowing blood to run. The... new bones(?) unfolded, her skin stretching to its limit before snapping.
It hurt it hurt it hurt it hurt
Sweat and tears ran down her face, the pain unbearable.
It hurt it hurt it hurt it hurt
Skin melded together, skin tore apart. Muscle formed. Bone hardened. Blood poured out of her back.
It hurt it hurt it hurt it hurt
-
A painful and long time passed before the agony ceased.
"S-shit..." 401 grimaced, staring at the glistening blood on the floor. She had no idea what the hell happened, and she didn't have a mirror to check her back. All she knew for certain was that there was added weight to her spine.
-
A pond! Maybe 401 could see what was on her back.
...
Wings. She got f**king wings. And big ones too.
What the shit?
-
It was awkward getting used to. They got in the way and felt very "tender". They throbbed with pain sometimes. 401 had a suspicion that her body was still trying to get used to having another organ to take care of.
