That's why I've worked hard the past few years to get people together and learn to bond over things again while leaving political crap out of it. No one wants to do anything though.
Many issues aren't even right vs left because politics shouldn't have had any influence in it to begin with, but even the nerds are letting their cultures collapse. First they don't want anything to do with it, then they start walking lock-step with it!
Too many people will say they oppose something, do nothing, then start faling in-line... pattern?
When they do that instead of standing up, things desintigrate into the petri dish cultures they become.
