I love all people, not quite as well as God, but I always try to see people as just people making choices. If the choices conflict with standards acceptable by God, I must, due to that love for all, point out where that standard is not obtained. His standards are the bare minimum required to escape eternal judgement and punishment. If I were deviate from this course, it would be me hating others. To wave bye bye to people as they comfortably travel to certain doom. This would not be love or compassion on my part. All are too important to God and therefore, to me. Jesus, the Messiah, Son of God and God Himself, left His eternal heavenly home to live on earth as close to one of us as possible. From the infant, lieing in an animal feeding trough, to adulthood, He experienced life as a human. He, alone, was able to do this without deviating from the standards of God. The reason He did this was to pay our sin debt by dieing on the cross in our place. Humanity was completely unable to bridge the chasm, created by sin, back to God. Only God could do that and only in this way. This bridge is open to all who accept the free gift, the mercy, the Grace. It, however, is not just - He did it, we get it. let's say I am standing outside an elevator. If I am at the ground floor and I see an elevator, I can reasonably assume that it will go up. If I never step into the elevator, my knowledge of it's capabilities are meaningless. I must trust the promise inherent in the elevator to enter it so that I can get this gift. We each must choose to accept or deny this grace offered by Jesus. Once we deny this gift, the consequences of doing so clear. If we choose a life of not trusting the mercy God offers us; want nothing to do with God here, He will give you your wish of not being with Him in eternity. There only 2 options: heaven or hell.
