I have three of them:
-Solo gets too much hate
-Kylo Ren is actually an awesome villain
-Republic Commando is overrated
1 up, 12mo
I agree with the first two but I’ve never played republic commando

Yknow, a lot of people would disagree with you on the last one. I'm one of them, but I'm not the type that might kill you.

han and leia were not a good couple. episode nine is the worst. eight and seven were decent i guess. anakin should've had more character development and been given more of a personality than just arrogant and cocky soldier with ptsd. luke in the sequels isn't luke, he's someone else entirely. and the last one i have that isn't really a hot take, but still, REY. IS. COMPETLY. USLESS. AND. A. BITCH. WITH. NO. PERSONALITY.

allow me to break it down for you.

let's start with ani. if you really look anakin as a whole (all the canon when he's anakin, not vader), all we really see from him is his trauma (ep 2, 3, and even clone wars), his mindset of being all that and the best thing ever, just because he's "the chosen one" who's known across the galaxy (clone wars mostly), for his lightsaber/hand-to-hand combat, which he prides himself on (not saying it's a bad thing, but from my perspective, it seems to be the thing he like to show off with). and it shouldn't (and generally isn't) what the jedi are known for. next, anakin's son. i stand by my statement of luke not being himself at ALL in the sequels. even mark hamill said something about it. i could be quoting him wrong, but he said something like, "that's not my luke." and i think he's right. sequels luke is not in any way the same person as originals luke. speaking of the sequels, they're up. i like them for what they are, but nine is absolute horse shit. and that's saying something. i used to think ep one was bad, but OMG. nine has no point, no plot, no character development. the only "point" it has is finishing off the sequels. when i first saw seven and eight, i liked them, and i still do. they sorta make sense. i liked the dialogue too. eight was funny. seven too sorta. but overall as movies using one word to describe them, seven, alright, eight, funny, nine, TRASH. y'know what else is trash? REY. MOTHERF**KING. PALPATINE. she has no personality, no likable character traits, no character development, and we're just supposed to accept she has at most, what, a year of training? and she's a "jedi"? like what the hell? also, she is not a skywalker. idfc. i ain't calling her a skywalker. and saving the best for last, leia and han. now i love leia, don't get me wrong. my problem is mostly han. and han, is han. he loves leia, yes, kylo (ben) too, but he made a choice to leave leia when ben went dark. i think that was a dick move and he could've been a better father and husband.

and that, was my "in depth analysis". thank you for your time.

So most of that was subjective opinion.

Hamill did say what you mentioned, he later says also that he hadn't seen the whole thing yet or saw the bigger picture at the time. Hamill went so far ass to say that actors have different ideas all the time. They aren't the writers. They are the carpenters, not the architect. His idea was to have Boba Fett be his mother. He said the whole Jedi apprentice thing has been done before.

Luke was very much himself, he stood over kylo as he stood over his father and both times felt regret and both times chose the better path. And like Yoda, he chose exile. Luke's story in the sequel was very Arthurian, the biggest shout out to Anglo Saxon Heritage and no one gives the writing credit. This story is entirely Arthurian from PT to ST in great parallel. And ppl still make culture wars over this about diversity casts and references to other cultures.

No one knows what Han was doing. Why is your first assumption so negative? He was airways a scoundrel, even in the rebel alliance. Brass isn't his thing. What's to say he didn't go out gambling and spending everything he could to find Luke or get money for the resistance? In war, lovers don't stay together usually if they are both fighting for the same cause.

So, as I said, objective reasons why it's bad?

damn, those are pretty good points. alright, you persuaded me on luke and han, but i'm still sticking to my original statement of leia and han not being a good couple. idk what it is, but something don't seem right to me. also, you seem really defensive of luke and han lol

It's possible that I am just tired of the social media loudmouths repeating the same points about the sequel trilogy when there are perfectly valid points to counter them, but it's drowned out by people rejecting alternatives that allow people to view the movies in a better light.

If you want a treat, you should watch a film called "The Last Skywalker" By Heroes Fan Productions (HFP). This editor respects both divides of the fanbase and makes an edit of the skywalker saga that puts all three trilogies in perspective.

I promise, you won't be disappointed.
