"Liberals in the US have a lot more to fear from radical Christians than radical Muslims, because in this country radical Christians far outnumber radical Muslims, and radical Christians have a history of violence and terrorism."

Why? What is a radical Christian? Where in the Bible did Jesus ever call for violence? The Quran does. Under sharia law the punishment for being a homosexual is death. In Christianity the punishment for being homosexual is to "love they neighbour".

"There are pastors in this country who have openly called for the government to arrest and execute gay people. And their holy book backs them up."

Yeah and there are liberals who want to send conservatives to reeducation camps.

The Bible does NOT back them up. The commandments in the Bible are intended for the individual who reads them to follow or not to follow. There is nothing in the Bible that tells people to enforce those commandments on other people. The Bible is about freedom. "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." - John 8:32 (KJV)

Not everyone understands that. There are some Christians who maliciously use the Bible. But even worse are the non-religious, agnostics and atheists who maliciously use the Bible to distort what it says.

"Radical Christians are trying to take over school boards and local and state and federal offices to push their harmful agenda onto the entire country. Are Muslims doing that in the United States?"

Where? Where are those "Radical" Christians trying to push any kind of agenda in schools? Are you talking about parents trying to keep Marxist indoctrination away from their children? Because that is actually happening. It has been happening for decades. The liberal agenda was in the schools way back when I was in school in the 60's and 70's.

Yes, conservatives are push an agenda in schools. That agenda is actually educating children instead of indoctrination into Marxism. The agenda is getting back to teaching history, mathematics, science, English. Ya know... The kinds of things that gives kids the knowledge to better interact with society.

"A radical Christian is someone with extremist views, who tries to force their religion on other people, or uses their religion to justify hurting other people"

Oh.... Those aren't Christians, they're liberals. Liberals keep trying to shove their extreme agenda down our throats. So much so they even talk about re-education camps for conservatives. Christians don't do that.

"Aside from the passage about drowning people who try to lead children astray, I didn't say that he did. But the Bible does."

Wow did you ever misunderstand what Jesus said. Jesus didn't say drown people who abuse children. He said it would be better in the next life for them if they had a stone tied around their neck and thrown into the ocean. It was a metaphor. It was saying that what is in store for child molesters and pedophiles is worse in the next life than the worst thing you can image in this life.

"The Bible says that too"

In the Law of Moses. NO ONE lives under the Law of Moses. It is included in the Bible as a point of reference. Neither Christian or Jew kill homosexuals. Considering that our founding fathers were all devout Christians, if they wanted homosexuals dead they would have legislated that from the beginning and used the Law of Moses to justify it. But they didn't did they? They did have laws about having nonmarital (premarital or extramarital) sex which included homosexuality but the punishment was never death. Not to mention it was extremely hard to enforce without violating the 4th amendment. Those laws eventually fell off the books.

"Show me the verse that says people are free to ignore God's commands and laws without any punishment"

Uh, like, the entire Bible. Have you ever read the Bible? Do you even know what is in it. Here is a prime example. Jesus said that He stands at the door and knocks. He didn't say He is kicking in the door. It is entirely up to you to open the door.

"Atheists are always accused of taking the Bible out of context."

And yet you just did that with Jesus's comment about pedophiles.

It's funny how people cite Leviticus while forgetting about Matthew 19:3-9. I guess people just accepted divorce as a part of life. :-x

"Oklahoma. Florida. Texas. North Dakota. West Virginia. Arkansas. Louisiana. Mississippi. And numerous others. It's weird how you deny it, then confirm it just a few sentences later."

I don't know if you are getting bogus information or not. But here's the thing. The children who go to the schools in those states belong to their parents. If one school district in North Dakota thinks that Harry Potter (I just picked that name out of random, I don't know if there are any schools who want to remove the Harry Potter books from their school libraries) is in appropriate for the children who attend that school then that is their decision. The type of information that the school teaches and makes available is the ultimate authority of the parents. If the majority of parents wants Harry Potter removed from school then Harry's gotta go.

It is NOT up to the school district but most importantly it is not up to liberals what books stay or go. It is the parents who send their kids to that school.

So if you read on some liberal "news" source that a book is getting banned then it should be by the will of the parents and not some liberal who gets their panties in a bind 2,000 miles away.

In Utah one school district took it upon themselves to make the decision to remove the Bible from the school library. The school board had to severely back peddle on that decision when the parent got involved.

What I am most concerned about are the sexuality books for 3rd graders that show porn and teach children how to masturbate. The text in these books reads like a porno mag. Contains text so vile that when the parents read it to the school board the board members silence the parents and remind them that that type of language will not be tolerated. Liberals, these days, think it is perfectly acceptable for that book to be in the school library??? If it cannot be read aloud in a school board meeting then has no reason to be in the school library.

"No, I'm talking about radical Christians trying to push a harmful and unconstitutional religious agenda in public schools"

So what you are saying is that it is perfectly acceptable for the school boards to shove the religion of liberalism down their throats but if a Christian even says "hi".

Liberals think that just the mere existence of a Christian is the same as a Christian shoving his/her religion on you.

"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." Leviticus 20:13 (KJV)

The book of Leviticus is in the Old Testament and contains the Law of Moses. Can you show me ANY Christian group who follows the Law of Moses? For that matter can you show me any Jew who still follows the Law of Moses? Jesus came to fulfil the law. The Law of the Gospel is what Christians follow. The Law of Moses is the bases for natural law in our legal system but a lot of it never carried over. Putting homosexuals to death did not carry over into our legal system. AND NO ONE IS ADVOCATING THAT IT SHOULD. Well maybe those Westboro Baptist morons but they are insignificant. Even the Baptist church disassociates themselves from the Westboro Baptists. And wouldn't you know it, the Westboro Baptists are all Democrats. What is it with Democrats and authoritarianism?

The Law of the Gospel does authorize anyone to punish people who do not follow the Law. The Law of the Gospel, instead, says that the punishment will come from God and will happen in the next life.

But understand, God loves all of His children and that punishment in the next life will be from us more than God. We create our own hell. God will open our understanding in ways that we cannot ever comprehend in this life and it is at that point that we realize that we either are or are not worthy to live with Him for eternity. I personally do not believe that people will burn endlessly in a lake of fire. I believe that the "lake of fire" is the anguish and remorse for not living up to your fullest potential. Not being able to have all that God offers His children.
