Theory time :)
I had the theory that each murder drones episode would go further back in time. For example, episode 1 was the distant future, telling what might happen to Earth bc we're destroying the planet, episode 2 describing the present, with references to the eldritch horrors that are popular in pop culture, episode 3 describing the old popular high school movies, episode 4 describing camp movies, episode 5 describing medieval times when nobles lived with serfs, and episode 6 describing the jurassic period. Now, with the introduction to churches, I know that this is not exactly the case, but it does go further back each time with pop culture. With the Cathedral, the next episode may include references to old ghost movies like the exorcism, or yeva and nori being by a church in a teaser, may be there to help themselves cure themselves and perhaps get rid of their absolute solver, or help uzi get rid of her absolute solver.
Or they just did it to make a joke about how God wiped out the dinosaurs bc they couldn't make churches, idk.
