apparently ai decided there should be a new character in the star wars universe who shoots beams of light without any help. I'm calling it a lightbender for now. Perhaps the lightbender is causing mass destruction, and those tie fighters are the remainder, that's why they're broken. And perhaps the lightbender can increase the output of lightsabers, and that's why the guy in the background has a really long lightsaber. IDK ai gave me a really messed up image to try and explain.
