The goal was to have Gavin Newsome wipe the floor with Trump's only viable competitor on the Right of Center; and instead DeSantis wiped the floor with the neo-Marxist, Newsome. It did NOT go how the Left expected. The irony being that DeSantis is so far behind Trump in polling that DeSantis might was well not be campaigning at all.
