It seems to be the flow of history, kind of like how if JFK were alive today he'd be considered conservative as opposed to the modern democratic party. Little by little the societal norms shift left, 20 years ago the idea of a same sex couple being "married" and raising an adopted kid would be laughed out of the room yet here we are.
