It's not my favorite (that would be Elf, which I find to be the funniest movie that I have, despite some tough competition), but I do love it and is one of my most frequently watched Christmas movies. I mean why not? It is an absolute classic and is also really funny.

It takes place during a holiday Christmas party, with snow everywhere, and there is the use of a Santa hat and the phrase "ho-ho-ho!". Also, one of the conflicts early in the movie is about how the main character needs to be home to see his kids for Christmas, and it is the whole reason the main character was in the building where the main conflict occurred.

To put it simply, Die Hard is a Christmas movie.
