McDonalds is literally known for being cheap and it is, that meal would actually cost like $7

Maybe back in the 90s but certainly not today: https://nypost.com/2023/11/04/lifestyle/16-for-a-burger-fries-and-soda-mcdonalds-customers-slam-franchise-fume-its-no-longer-affordable/

Oh snap, well... I still like McDonalds so I don't care (but my standards are low in general)

In my view, the taste of McDonald's has become rather lackluster. It doesn't taste as good as it did back in the day. With that and how overpriced and smaller in portion the food has become, I feel McDonald's is simply not worth it. If you wanna know what fast food burger restaurant gives you the best value for your dollar, it's Five Guys. A lot of people complain about Five Guys being "expensive" but you actually get good value for what you pay for. The patties are made from fresh ground beef on site which makes a very thick and juicy patty and burger is significantly bigger than a McDonald's big mac plus Five Guys offers unlimited toppings including grilled onions and mushrooms for no extra charge. They also give you an extra scoop of their fresh cut fries, they don't merely fill the fry cup but give an extra scoop in the bag. These days, a "large" fries at McDonald's is only the size of what a medium was back in the 90s. People exaggerate about Five Guys being like $35 or even $50 but the last time I was at Five Guys I ordered a double cheeseburger with grilled onions and mushrooms, a medium fries (with the generous extra scoop) and a refillable drink for only $23.35.

Another thing, I like Burger King better than McDonald's. Still not anywhere near as good as Five Guys but the taste is better than McDonald's and it's also somewhat better value than McDonald's.

Big Mac Meal (Large) with French Fries and Coke(r), $12.74 plus tax
Let's say 7% tax, that's a total of $13.63

Not quite $16 but almost.

Now if you eat like a normal person and buy yourself a cheeseburger with small fries and a small Coke(r):
that'll be $6.97 + tax, which let's say 7%, it's total $7.46,
$8 if you round up for charity.

And you won't get a heart attack at 29.

Yeah, if you can even call that "large" their burgers and fries portions are significantly smaller size these days. A "large" fries is the size of what a medium fries was back in the 90s. I don't even go to McDonald's at all due to the rip off price. I don't even go to fast food restaurants often.

I go to McDonalds because I'm too busy to cook and too broke to order anything but fast food most of the time. lol

I think frozen microwave food is lower quality, but what do I know 😂

When I did have time to buy stuff and cook at home, it saved me so much money and quality was so much better, that I curse schools for teaching me trigonometry instead of time management and cooking 😁

Funny thing, I'm broke af and I home cook all my meals for food from the grocery store is all I can afford to buy and even buying fast food is too expensive for me and I only buy myself a fast food burger when I have enough saved up and am too tired to cook. You say you don't have enough time to cook but I am able to cook myself something is less than half and hour but I also find it a very tiring task and wish I could order food that I don't have to cook a lot more often.

I can't speak for you, I don't know or you or what your life is like. Maybe I'm just very good at cooking, I find it very tiring but I manage to pull it off.
