The legend of Osore, the Unholy Necromancer is a dark and brutal tale about a wizard who used his own powers to make himself live longer, but was murdered by an unknown man in the process. However, the spell finished after his death, forcing him into a state of eternal life. Rather than killing him, he let him go, and used his powers to bring other dead people to life, becoming their leader.

He was passed off as a simple campfire story for over 300 years, until reports from locals have talked about “a skeletal, robed figure attacking Inkperial outposts with an army of skeletons”. I mean, it turns out there was a crap ton of lead in that town’s water supply, like enough to kill a large elephant, but come on, that can’t be a coincidence…
