Come on guys, give the series a break. First of all, it was meant for entertainment, Second of all, you're not all that much better than those 10 year olds. I personally watch it for the lore, if the kids keep it to themselves, leave them alone, but if they try to influence people and treat it like its some sort of god, then thats another thing.

My point is that the series didn't do the damage, the viewers did. They chose to make it hated, the series isn't bad, its the viewers who make it cringe.
