A month ago I found this jumping spider on the sidewalk and it was dead and limp. It wouldn’t move even when I tapped it or forced it to move.
It was very intact, so I took it home and stored it with my pinned insects and let it sit there. It never decayed, and its legs never stiffened.
But it laid there for a whole month and never moved. Then I decided I was just going to throw it away because I had no use for it, but when I picked it up it started walking around in my hand. It even drag-lined when it had the opportunity to.
Idk if it’s just dehydrated or hibernating but it’s a wacky situation.
