USB-c is much faster at charging, but it’s not like you need to spend hours charging a phone with a lightning cable. And on top of that, it comes with an excessive amount of heat.
Phones aren’t built to withstand heat like computers are. The GPU and CPU in my steam deck can reach temperatures of 70 or 80 degrees Celsius which is up to 170 degrees F. If my iphone is in 90 degree weather for too long, it overheats and performs really slowly.
Also take into account the iPhone has no fan. If there’s heat, it’s not coming out.
Maybe this is just Apple giving the middle finger to the European Union for forcing them to switch to USB-c. That would be hilarious.
