If thats what they teach then so be it, but that makes literally no sense.
Have you ever stopped to think about it? Lets break it down.
God says "If a man has sexual relations with another man as with a woman, they have committed a terrible sin.”
Which is probably why your church teaches its not okay to have sex with them but its okay to have romance feeling.
But sex, in God's eyes, is a commitment to your romantic partner. And obviously making babies yk.
And if we look at the story of adam and eve, God made them FOR EACHOTHER. Why would he make two genders for eachother if they can just date whoever they want.
And since Sex is a commitment to your partner in romance, common sense would suggest: Why would God say "Alright men and women can date, then after their married they can have sex. But if two men wanna date, thats fine but they cant have sex." Why would he do that? Like I said, it makes no sense.
Of course, everyone views biblical scriptures differently. If this is your perspective then so be it. But I feel like (you know, common sense) God makes it pretty clear that ANY romantic feelings toward someone of the same gender is sin.
