how to not be a hated user #5:; don't try to bring a certain aspect of you into an argument to try to make you the victim. what i mean is that, if someone is arguing with you about something you posted, don't bring in the fact you're gay, trans, black, or whatever to make it seem as if your opponent is a bigot. that won't help you and will just make you look like an entitled asshole. if you bring that into arguments when the argument has nothing to do with it, you are clearly just trying to dirty the image of the other user and harass them at that point.
