It's actually really cool how this works, because of how each of the hexagons are positioned and shaded, when you move your eyes your brain perceives it as the image moving. The reason why it "detects" stress is because people who are stressed tend to move their eyes more so the image appears to move faster. Almost everyone will see the image moving slowly at least because your eyes constantly move on their own, even if you don't notice.
