I started it but it was so just "walk here, do this thing, talk to people a lot, walk around, do a puzzle, fight, walk around, talk"

I got of it and played God of War: Ragnarok like a man

Also all the tedious tasks like gathering medicine all the time or manually searching each and every dead enemy for resources.

And talking to all the character felt the exact same all the time. Because the camera just has one angle on them at all times and they only have one facial expression.

This is why God of War: Ragnarok is better

Far Cry 2 had none of these problems. To this day that’s one of the only good open world games I’ve played.

Elden Ring:

I will say they nailed the setting and ambience. And the gameplay CAN be fun and engaging, especially since it’s about aiming well and shooting weak spots.

But my gosh the pacing. I’m 4 and a half hours in and I’m so sick of sitting through cutscenes and dialogue wheels. The main story is just run to the objective, talk to people, and maybe fight a few enemies.

A ton of the side quests are just pointless open world filler like “go save my daughter” or “go retrieve my spear that I lost.” It’s so bland.

Hey, maybe it gets good after 10 hours. You know, the time it would take to finish Dead Space, a game that is good from the very start?
