Highly intelligent people can pass for normal because even impaired they can perform at an average level. Tons of lawyers end up discovering well into adulthood that they have ADHD and it just never posed enough of a problem to look into. (A huge clue is when amphetamines calm you down and help you focus.)

Diagnosis no longer interests me. My questions are: what meds help, what are the side effects and can I reliably obtain them. I laugh my balls off whenever I hear someone wringing their hands about "chemical dependence". Without my daily cocktail of psych meds I'd be locked in a catatonic stupor of recursive nightmares in less than a week.

I hate that a lot of old people are like "we didn't have [insert mental issue here] back in our day" my great grand aunt about 10 uears before her death was diagnosed with adhd and she said and I'm not f**king joking " I told my mother I wasn't possessed or insane"
