basically, Super Paper Mario was deemed "too original" after its release, so Miyamoto set down a bunch of rules for Paper Mario's future. some of those rules being "No new species or heavy modification of existing species" and "No deep story; does it really need one?"
he basically f**king ruined the entire Paper Mario franchise
