The Rebirth of Inkstone

Inky Pearl: WHY DID YOU LIE TO ME!?
Pearlfan: YOU WERE TOO INNOCENT TO KNOW AT THE TIME!!
Inky Pearl: THAT'S NOT A GOOD REASON!!
Inky Pearl flies out of the window in anger that Pearlfan lied to her about Inkmatas’s death. She goes to a nearby cemetery to see if Inkmatas’s grave is there, and sure enough, it is. Inky walks up to the grave.
Inky Pearl: mama…
A single tear rolls down Inky’s cheek. She stays near Inkmatas’s grave for a while, and eventually, she falls asleep there, having the first good night’s rest since her growth spurt.

In the morning, Inky is woken up by a hard kick.
“Get up! You aren't supposed to be here.”
Inky Pearl opens her eyes to see a police officer standing there.
Inky Pearl: ugh ow… what do you want…
The police officer, thinking Inky Pearl is a homeless person: you aren't supposed to be sleeping here. Go.
Inky Pearl: what the hell!? You can't make me leave!
The police officer: don't make me take you out of here by force.
Inky Pearl: make me. You aren't my dad.
The police officer grabs Inky Pearl by the wrist and makes her get up.
Inky Pearl: hey, what the hell!?
The officer forcefully puts Inky Pearl’s hand behind her back and puts her in handcuffs.
The officer: you have the right to remain silent. (idk the rest, lol)

Out of pure anger and will to stay with Inkmatas, Inky Pearl’s hands get hot, REAL hot; some orange embers could be seen flying off her hands. And as a result the handcuffs melted off of her wrists, but it did burn them pretty severely. But at the same time, it also burned the police officer badly.
Inky Pearl and the officer: GAHH!!
Inky Pearl saw this as a chance to escape however, so she flew off back to Pearlfan’s apartment. While flying, though, Inky looks at her hand, and a small orange fireball appears.
Inky Pearl: w-whoa…
Inky Pearl arrives back at Pearlfan’s apartment and gently knocks on the door to not hurt her wrists.

Pearlfan opens the door and gasps.
Pearlfan: Inky!!
Pearlfan hugs Inky Pearl.
Pearlfan: are you okay!? What happened to your wrists!?
Inky Pearl: I'm fine, mama…
Pearlfan: here, let me help.
Pearlfan heals Inky Pearl’s burns.
Pearlfan: how did you even get these burns?
Inky Pearl: I-I don't know, my hands just became hot, and I burned myself.
Pearlfan: hmm, can you show me? Just out of curiosity.
Inky Pearl: o-okay.
Inky Pearl holds her hand out, and the small fireball appears again.
Pearlfan: oh my Lord.
Pearlfan: Inkstone.

Collector: interesting, I have never seen inkstone act like this before. I theorized it was an energy passed down through generations, and not a genetic ability. But clearly that theory was incorrect

Inky Pearl: I don't even know how I'm able to do this; why now? Why not when I was younger?

Collector: sometimes it requires near-death scenarios to unlock your abilities, or just stressful situations in general. Anything to get your heart rate up it seems.

Inky Pearl: hmm, interesting. I'll have to look into Inkstone then to see if I can learn more.

Collector: inkmatas let me have a lot of her inkstone books after she died so I can research them. I'll look through them and find one with some basic techniques for you
