I don't know if Trump can copy his classified documents from the official ones for his sake but I wish that would be illegal because Trump ain't president and he doesn't need to know about the national security information

You can copy classified documents for mission-related purposes, but you have to give them the same amount of protection as the originals. Trump is completely ignorant of all this.

Fair enough

Trump loses on both counts. He had no mission-related purpose, iow no "need to know". And he didn't give the originals the required protection, so it's a given he wouldn't have done the same for any copies. So in his case, copying would have been absolutely illegal.
