Nope. The pinnacle of years were from 1981 to 1999. The birth of MTV, the birth of good gaming systems, some of the best rock, heavy metal pioneers - pioneering of hip hop - and Punk Rock. Even country music got less boring.
Television had some of the best shows, especially with references to awesome vehicles being costars. Birth of marketed cartoon/toy lines which brought entertainment on TV and in the toybox. Transformers, Thundercats, Power Rangers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, My Little Pony, GI JOE, Voltron, and Ghostbusters ALL from these years.
Gas was less than $1. Pepsi and Coke machines were only 50 cents. You could take a date to a movie and get snacks for $20. Wendy's had a Salad Bar AND a Country Fried Steak sandwich. You could get brand new cars for 8-12 Grand. $100 bought a family of four a week worth of groceries.
It birthed the home Internet and PC being common household items.
