MSMGSOC is a joke with the punch line being the site mods are INGSOC from 1984 because of their clear favoritism towards certain users. Anything using their templates or referencing MSMGSOC is usually satire.

Perhaps it would have been better if you had moved on and focused on creating a positive stream. While I am not defending Daniel's actions, it seems that your stream has been negatively impacted by Twitter drama, which has ultimately led to the downfall of Imgflip as a site. It's understandable why sitewide mods would want to intervene. It appears that you and your streammates are struggling to overcome these challenges, and your stream is in a precarious position. It's worth noting that on November 13th, msmg may decide to discontinue their support after failing on march 27th, which could further complicate matters.

I’m not on most of the time so I can’t really tell you but I highly doubt MSMG talks about twitter drama. And let’s be honest, if we did, we wouldn’t talk about it more than Reddit.

The sitemods are there to prevent our OWN USERS from shutting down the the stream and preventing new users from joining. Hence why the arkuum didn’t work, there was too much support to reopen the stream, and the sitemods took advantage of it because we basically had the most internet traffic out of all of the user created streams, losing MSMG could have actually been a problem for them. That’s the only reason why they’re even in an ownership position right now, and almost no one in the stream agrees with them but realizes they can’t do anything anyways.

I completely agree that it's not good for the sitemods to take over the stream. MSMG needs to be permanently removed, but the sitemods won't allow it because of their greed. If MSMG is eliminated, it would be beneficial for Imgflip and the site would be able to fully recover.

What’s actually going to happen is we leave, the new generation of memers comes in, no one knows the difference. Thus, “recovering” the site with a bonus:

The site mods are in control of MSMG
The site mods have always been in control of MSMG, it was never user created
The sitemods will always hold MSMG and use it for their purposes.
