my math teacher (one of the only good things about him) will actually tell you the steps if you need it
so ex (this isn't a problem we would do but a short example):
What is the amount of chlorine to add into the pool if you add 2oz per 1000 oz, and you have 6892 oz of water in the pool?

he would first reword the problem with the numbers more clearly, then tell you more about it, like per say, tell you to divide by 1000. (again, not that obvious irl, but gets you on the right track
