Diogenes takes Plato to task for his insipid definition of man, only the plucked chicken is a chair

That chair is bipedal only by the loosest possible definition of the word

According to Diogenes Laertius: Lives of Eminent Philosophers, Plato’s said “ζῷον δίπουν ἄπτερον” which translates to “two-legged featherless animal.” Apparently he never heard of the kangaroo.
