I was poking fun at the people who either talk about how important it is yet don't want to help you, or the ones who always want to be a victim and no matter how many times you try to help them, as soon as you need help they have to stress how much worse they are.
This is based on multiple instances I had recently. Like, they want attention but don't want to be helped, but as soon as someone else gets that attention they literally told me "just choose to have a better life!" and told my life sucks because I chose to be lonely, struggling to find a job, suffering through anxiety and trying not to return to a previous addiction. After hours of explaining to each of them why it's not that simple, I kept getting the same redundant answers.
Reminds me of a few years back when I lost a close family member who was a safe haven from my abusive father. One of my best friends said my suffering was nothing compared to his recent breakup (his third breakup from the same guy within 2 weeks).
Oftentimes, to the ones it matters most to, it only matters when it's for themselves.
