My players' best Nat 20 :

So my party fell into a pit dug by cultists. They were looking for a caravan that had gone missing in the area, and my group fell in. Fortunately, the (remains) of the caravan were in the hole. The only member of the caravan that was still alive was trapped under his wagon. Being the kind souls they are, my party decides to help him out from under the wagon. the monk of the party decides to try first. this monk has no arms. remembering this, they ask me if they can try to kick it off. I say yes. Nat 20.

The wagon is reduced to splinters and sawdust, and the bard's suit is ruined.

Story II:

In a previous Campaign, I was playing a Human Rogue-Fighter multiclass. Originally built as a Rogue, the character's entire concept was to simply turn the general Rogue stereotypes on their head, using the ability to support the party. This led to the Fighter multiclass as well as through a combination of good level-up health roles and circumstance I found a need to tank very often.

As the party entered a ruined temple, we were ambushed by a team of Harpies. Staying out of reach of the wider party, I used a combination of my Ring of Jumping, Crossbow, high Dexterity, and developing combat skills to engage single Harpies and distract them while the rest of the party organized a defense. Though we survived, I ended up as the only party member in good health, with everyone else severely wounded if not downed, the latter including our Cleric.

Searching for a place to heal, the battered party came across four Reverse Werejackals- As in, normal Jackals that could twist themselves into the forms of men. The upside, they weren't infectious as the lycanthropy could only target actual Jackals. The downside, they were otherwise every bit as dangerous as normal Were-creatures.

Knowing the party was in no condition to fight, we quickly spotted a ruined building that could be quickly fortified and used to heal in. However, that was not quite an option considering the Werejackals could easily chase us inside. Ultimately, I decided to stand out and distract, repeating Dodge to avoid taking hits as the party retreated, got the Cleric up and only then would I retreat to the ruins to aid in the defense.

For two solid turns I held back the Werejackals. The Fighter tried to stand with me, only to be forced into retreat. Then, the party's dog went out to help, forcing me to stay and defend longer still. Finally, the Werejackals downed me through a special ability, using magic to knock me unconscious. The fighter, in an incredible turn, ran out, grabbed me, and pulled me inside the ruin.

In the ruin, the Cleric was up and had begun healing the party. A proper defense could be organized. We let them funnel into the doorway as the Fighter and Monk blocked the entrance Remaining prone after being awakened, I shot two natural 20s in a row with my crossbow- Even with the magical bolts I employed, there was not enough damage to be fatal, but combined with the rest of the party it *was* enough to shock the Werejackals into a rout. The party safe, we slept in the ruins.

over the last few sessions... For context, through certain magical effects characters "respawn". There's negatives and all but it's quite a lot to get into here.

Anyways, travelling down a forest road we got ambushed by four monsters that were basically designed to be barriers for our entry into the region, and thus incredibly difficult. the fourth and strongest of the monsters one-shot the dedicated fighter, while the rest engaged in a brutal battle with the party.

After a slugfest with one of the monsters, a Manticore, I joined the wider fight against two more, eventually getting downed. Another party member had died, and it was only the Cleric and I still in the fight. The cleric healed me allowing me to stagger to my feet.

In one move, I activated every ability I could in the turn, going all-in in a risky but incredibly powerful attack. Natural 20. In a single move, my Fighter-Cleric character screaming like a barbarian in a combination of rage and pain, I tore apart a Hydra slashing a fatal blow into it's chest. Wheeling around in a 180-degree arc, the strike continued into the advancing Owlbear, killing it in a single hit. Only then did the last monster, a lumbering Chimera, exhale a blast of fire, a fatal blow against my barely standing character.

However, defeating 3/4 of the monsters was enough to end the encounter. A world event started that caused the Chimera to run, leaving the Cleric as the last, barely-standing, survivor. Of course, everyone else re-appeared after some time. allowing the campaign to continue. In a single move, defiant against certain death, I prevented- just barely, a TPK.
