Don't support bad decisions, support good decisions. When you support bad decisions, you're telling whoever made it that it's okay when it's not. If you want them to avoid it, let them know how much you like their good songs. If you support good decisions more than bad decisions, then they'll have every reason to keep making good songs.
It's the same logic behind boycotting a company. Support is a reward. You have to reward good behavior.
